After Dinner Dance Party // Christmas Tunes Part I

Afterdinner copy

It's a new week Sweets - and we're hurtling towards Christmas, can you believe there's only 20 days to go? We had a super fun-filled day of Christmas Crafting yesterday, can't wait to share the results with you over the next week or so with some sweet DIYs.

Back to the After Dinner Dance Party - for the next few weeks we'll be bringing you our top Festive Picks. We'll be playing this playlist this week while we bring out the rest of the decs (yes there's more!!) and make a start on our present wrapping!

Our new favourite album, we're not going to lie, we've been listening to this non-stop since it's October release. Our fave Duo - Zooey Deschanel & M Ward bring us their rendition of 'Baby it's Cold Outside' - we love the role reversal of the usual Male/Female parts, M Ward wants to go home, he's worried about what the neighbours may think, but Zooey really, really thinks he should stay for one more drink, 'cause "Baby, it's cold outside". We also like that it reminds us of Miss Deschanel in Elf! The whole album is a dream, you HAVE to get it if you haven't already.

For us, Phil Spector's 'A Christmas Gift For You' is the quintessential Christmas album, 60s girl groups singing all the best festive tunes? Unbeatable! We love that all these songs appear across almost every cheesy Christmas movie that's ever been, Darlene Love's 'Marshmallow World' is a super sweet tune to help you get in - like Miss Love we can't wait for marshmallow like snow either, no signs yet in these parts - we'll have to make do with mini-mallows in hot chocolate for now. Sigh.

'It's Christmas and I Hate You' - The beautiful Paloma Faith and adorable Josh Weller bring us this hilarious song of a marriage's breakdown, worsening over the festive season as they start to reveal that they hate absolutely everything about each other, from thier spouse's parents to their jobs, music tastes, even their poor kids get it! Despite its rather anti-Christmas vibe, it never fails to bring a smile to our faces this time of year with its satirical humour.

Hope you've enjoyed part 1 of 3 Christmas ADDPs! See you next Monday for another mix of old, new and slightly odd Christmas hits!

Much love,

R&L xx
