Bruce's Ponderings // The Lone Wanderer...

IMG_1192

Good day to you all Twee Followers,

You may be curious as to why you've not have heard from me for a while, I've been off wandering you see, getting out there - in my very first post I expressed my desire to travel and I was at last getting a taste of it... I made my way, one wintery eve not so long ago, down what was is now a well travelled path by this feline explorer, down the drive of Twee Towers, diving across the street, wandering along the path of a traffic heavy road, avoiding other pilgrims beating down this path. I sprinted, with care, over the busy roundabout and sauntered up to an old haunt... The Dolls House.

I used to live here you see, just me, Rhi and Little M, before we moved into Twee Towers with Lola, it was a quaintly compact 2-up, 2-down abode, nothing like my practically palacial quarters now, but there was something about the warm familiarity that kept drawing me back. I'd dropped in a few times during these past few months, slipping in through the window and playing with the nice Lady and Young girl who live there now, I also got extra meals, bonus for a gluttonous cat such as myself...!

Last week I decided it was high time I took a vacation, I love the Girls and Little M, don't get my wrong, but sometimes a man just needs a break to recharge his whiskers. Travelling light, with nothing but my crown encrusted collar - I bid adue to Twee Towers and settled myself in at my holiday home at the Dolls House, however after a few days of being pampered by a small child (who prefered to stroke me rather than using my tail as a telephone, I'm looking at you Little M) I heard a knock at the door...

There Rhi stood, basket in hand, a look of worry on her face. I heard an exchange of "Thank god he's been hear the whole time! We were about to put up posters!"

Alas, I remembered, I hadn't left a note! My poor girls and Little M have apparently been beside themselves without me! So now I'm back, just like I never left, I'm trying to be extra playful to earn their forgiveness, but I think I may be started to test their nerves, they seemingly don't like having cups of tea thrown from their laps as I pounce in for a snuggle... Sigh, I'd best return to my nonchelant stance and offer them just the occassional moment of my affections...

Good to be back Twee Dears, good to be back.

Bisous.

Bruce's Ponderings // Treats & Trances

Hello darlings,

Bruce here again. It's been sometime I know, Lauren & Rhianna seem to forget my linguistic superiority, instead opting for their own mindless rambles day in day out. Pah.

Anyway, no time for chit chat, I have some more serious woes to disclose. Firstly, my commerade James abandoned the Twee Towers ship for pastures new. As my current primate of choice (best hair, best hugs) his absence vexes me greatly. Oh, I just cannot bare the distance...They tell me he is to return this week but I'm not too sure, sometimes they talk more nonsense than Lewis Caroll.

Last Friday they attempted to placate me with a bag full of treats. They engraciated me with a swanky new damask dish, with my title "The Boss" emblazoned on the front. I was happy for a bit, I suppose.

Next came the organic Chicken bites - a delicious but temporary distraction, a fleeting moment of joy amidst my contempt.

Finally, out of the bag came a giant hessian fish... what the flip is that about? I saw something on the label about it containing 'cat nip', I'm not quite sure what that means so I sniffed around it for a bit and then left. My head felt a little fuzzy around that point, an overwhelming sense of calm washed over me.

Next thing I knew, I was being woken up from a entranced slumber. I ashamed to admit, they found me in Little M's ball pool, inside of a bag for life, fiddlesticks! No idea how that happened, and although my memory of events is foggy, I know for certain that I am staying away from that god damn fish...

Till next time feline lovers,

Bruce the Cat (and The Boss)

On behalf of,
L&R xx

After Dinner Dance Party // Cool for Cats edition

Afterdinner copy

'Sup Kittens,

The Boss here. Week in, week out I have to put up with Lola, Rhi & Little M throwing shapes in the kitchen during their After Dinner Dance Parties whilst I'm trying to have a sneaky cat nap... so I'd thought it's about time that I took over the decks to throw my own tunes whilst they're in the studio getting stupidly excited working on designs for their first collection or something. So go and grab some cat nip, here's a selection of my favourite kit hits!

First up tonight is The Coasters with 'Three Cool Cats', totally rad. A nonchalently cool beat & irreverent lyrics with early rock n roll harmonies, I'm all over it. I probably should have chosen The Beatles version but I'm all about this original baby. Though seriously, what on earth is this video about darlings? So not cool.

Some of you may be deceived by my perpetual petulance thinking I'm not the most sentimental of felines, but believe me when I say that I do have a tender side. Cat Power's version of 'Sea of Love' may be one of the most beautiful songs that I've ever heard. Truly heartwarming. I think I want this at my wedding.

Ahhh David Bowie, my second favourite artist (after Bruce of course). Sounding a little bit latter day Johnny Cash at the start, 'Cat People' bursts, true to form into a spectacularly epic chorus, Bowie style. My paws are a-tapping. Interesting ideologies too, who are these Cat People?

Although I do love the version with the cute fluffy feline from The Aristocats this Psapp version is more up my alley. Enjoy kitty cats, everybody digs a swinging cat!

Peace out pussycats, I best go before they drag me away from the mac.

ps. Some may be shocked, even saddened that I haven't included any Springsteen, my idol in today's Dance Party... don't worry, soon as I get the ladies out the way again, there may a Brucey Bonus sometime soon!

Bruces' Ponderings // Bon Voyage

BonvoyageTheBoss

Bonjour, ca-va, whatever... Bruce here, but you can call me The Boss.

I have a dilemma, there are suitcases in the hall, the smell of suncream in the air - and the big floppy hat is down from the wall on the landing. Someone is going on holiday. I feel envy bristling in my fur, how I long to be casting off to distant shores, to feel the sand on my paws, a gentle tropic breeze through my whiskers...

Alas, no... I am forever destined to remain in the little close where Twee Towers sits. Quelle horror! I have been informed that the ferry sets sail at noon, and Rhi and Little M shall be on it. Returning to my homeland, without me (they think I am not French, because I was born in England, but Francais is a state of mind!).

They shall sip good wine, eat croissants and fine cuisine... and I shall continue to eat food from a pouch - merde!

Lola has informed me we shall have a blast... I'll probably milk it for a bit at first, demand more cuddles, play the sympathy card, you know... Then I'll probably just spend my days perfecting my chord changes on the guitar to Dancing in The Dark for my next Springsteen tribute gig, maybe even have a read of this Poe guy they've been talking non-stop about, I think I might like him, I hear it gets pretty dark...

Anyway, I'm over it! Bon Voyage Rhi & Little M - see you next week! Off to torture Lola.

Au revoir,

The Boss x

BonVoyage!

(Any excuse to wear stripes & berets! - Bye Rhi & Little M - have amazing time! Will miss you! L xx)

see you next week guys! Rhi x
