Literature Love // Nostalgic Advertising

vintage fashions adverts

Whilst we've been in the studio this week we've been flicking through these cute little vintage fashion ad books from the 50s and 60s. Full of witty advertisements, tongue in cheek captions and quirky illustrations, we fell in love with the humorous yet scathing sarcasm and ironic quips.

Here's a few of our favourites...

50s sighs ads

Terribly Tickled by 50s Puns. "Try this on for Sighs"

50s ads

Gorgeous 50s Underwear Ads.

60s ads1

60s - Awesome fonts, crazy legs, wicked moves.

60s ads3

Oh so beautiful. Dreamy whimsical 60s undie ads.

60s ads2

In comes the sarcasm - "How come all non-conformists look the same?" asks Simplicity. The Sanforized ad is hilarious - Beatniks taking a stand against their unshrinkable clothing. So, so clever!

60s perfume ad

Razor sharp wit... for interesting ladies only.

Very inspired by these ads, we may be taking notes with our very first look book in mind...

Hope you all have a nice weekend sweets :)

Much love,

L&R xx

Whilst I love them all, that last is my favorite. :)
