Hey Sweets,
It has been very busy in the Twee Kitchen this week, we have been whipping up a whole host of treats and delights for Easter. From Marshmallow Crispy Eggs to Solid Chocolate wizards we've got lots of ideas to share with you today...
Marshmallow Krispie Eggs

See below) step 1- Melt the Marshmallows and Butter together in the microwave (30 seconds at a time, keep stirring so it doesn't burn) until completely melted and combinedstep 2 - add the sticky mixture to the Krispies and mix until all the rice puffs are coated.step 3 - spoon mixture into the moulds (quickly - it gets messier and more difficult as it cools!)step 4 - put into fridge for a few hours to setstep 5 - take krispies out of the moulds and melt chocolate and drizzle over. Voila :)

Decorated Gingerbread Eggs
This one was a bit of a cheat - we bought the egg decorating kits from our local super market, it was a very handy device for keeping Little M preocupied while we were busy making other things though! Chocolate Surprise Dark Lords
You might recognise the Voldemort mould from this DIY. We've gone one better in sweetening up The Dark Lord this time, rather than covering him in pink hearts, we've filled him with white chocolate with hidden green skittles (don't you just wish, at the end of DHpt2, when Neville finishes off Nangini, that Voldemort had just burst into skittles? BEST ENDING EVER!) Simple Steps... Melt white chocolate, pour into mould (as per previous DIY), a little at a time, tapping mould hard on surface each time to make sure it fills all the holes and pops any airbubbles (you may notice Voldy's eyebrows are a little hollow!) and drop in a couple of skittles at a time. Leave to set in the fridge for a few hours (don't take it out too soon! We made a Snape one too, but were a bit to quick to take him out, his face doesn't look quite right as was still soft when we peeled back the mould!) Mini Egg Cheese Cake
Another cheat, thanks to Morrison's best New York Cheese Cake - We bought this cheese cake last summer for a 4th of July themed cake (topped with strawberries, and raspberries and blueberries to create a star spangled banner!) - and it is the BEST cheese cake ever, entirely too good! We can't compete with it, so we picked it up again and this time encrusted it with mini eggs. Chocolate Fudge Cake
You will need -175g Self raising flour2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder1 Tsp Bicarbonate soda150g Caster sugar2 Eggs Beaten150 ml Sunflower oil150 ml Semi skimmed milk2 Tbsp Golden syrupFor the frosting75g Unsalted butter175g Icing Sugar3 Tbsp Cocoa PowderDrop of Milk step 1- Pre-heat oven to 180 degrees. Mix until smooth. step 4 - pour the mixture into the tins and bake for 25 - 30 minutes until risen (we usually do the knife test to ensure its cooked through!). Leave to cool. step 5 - for the icing, beat butter until soft, sift and beat in the icing sugar and cocoa powder then add milk until the icing is spreadable & add a few mini eggs for decoration :) Easter Frittata
If you participate in some of the crafts in tomorrows post, and hand blow your own eggs, and don't want to waste the egg mix then this recipe should come in handy ;) You will need10 eggs1 red onion1 red pepperquite a few cherry tomatoes2 potatoes2 cloves of garlicOptional - Ham/Bacon/PancettaA little milk step 1 - Preheat your oven (to 200degrees) thinly slice your potatoes, boil in slightly salted water for about 10 minutesstep 2 - while the potatoes are simmering fry up the rest of the veg and crushed garlic (and the bacon/ham/pancetta if you're adding it) step 3 - after their 10 minutes are up, drain the potatoes and arrange slices in an oven proof dish, layer some of the veg mix on top, repeat with a 2nd layer of eachstep 4 - add a little milk to your eggs and lightly beat. Pour egg over the rest of the ingredients.step 5 - top with cheese and bake for 30-35 minutes So yummy!
