Rhi Likes // Shoes...

Like most little girls, the obsession all started with these shoes. The holy grail. Dorothy's ruby slippers. Then, along came Cinders, adding fuel to the fantasy footwear fire...

Both of those pairs of iconic slippers, so sparkly and sweet, of glass and glitter, not only grant wishes and make dreams come true, plucking normal girls from obscurity into castles and emerald cities, but either would look simply darling with any ensemble, what more could a girl ask for...

The fairy shoe-mothers were watching down us as our eyes glazed over and we all planned our pumpkin escape routes and imagined what we'd wish for when we clicked our heels together 3 times (bearded Gosling and a sudden downpour please...) they sprinkled some shoe crush dust over earth to create more covetable designs for us to coo and lust over... Who needs Prince Charming with heels like these..?

When scattering that sacred shoe lust dust the shoe faries stumbled across Prada's little sister - Miu Miu, they were feeling super generous and thought they'd administer an extra helping of magic to the Miu Miu design room... The result - consistently adorable shoes season after season, sequins and glitter galore, enough to turn Dorothy emerald eyed - those yellow shoeboots pratically give me goosebumps. Not to mention their printed shoes, swallows and cats - golly gosh, my pulse quickens. Daily eBay searches bare few fruits - you'd have to be a total fool to give these objects of desire away (but if you are a total fool, I am ready and willing to exchange my soul... UK6 - merci!)

Those sugarplum shoe fairies also happened upon a little gated street, circa 2007/2008, behind the Royal Hospital in Whitechapel, London. Inhabited, for the most part, by University of the Arts students. There they discovered the lovely Elizabeth Dunn and shared some of their fabulous footwear magic with her too. I was lucky enough to live on the aforementioned little gated street at that time, just a few doors away from the talented Miss Dunn herself - and now she makes the sorts of shoes that dreams are made of. Her 2013 Tran-Seasonal collection features handpainted sunset shoes and my personal shoe collection would be absolutely complete with the addition of those nude and aqua delights, gorgeous! She also writes a fabulous blog sharing insights into her collection, fashion inspiration and more gorgeous shoes than you could possibly imagine. Check out - Lizarella // See her current & previous collections on www.elizabethdunn.co.uk.

Thanks to my early and irrevocable induction into the footwear obsessives club - i'm sure you can imagine the frenzy I whipped myself into on a daily basis working at head office for one of the UKs leading highstreet shoe chains: SHOES, everyday, surrounded by SHOES... and best of all FREE SHOES, oh god I miss the free shoes!!!

I've got myself into a shoe-induced flutter now, I'd best get a cold shower and have a lie down in a darkend room...

Much love,
Rhi xx

I adore Miu Miu shoes! I spent the afternoon drooling in Harrods yesterday. The shoe department is to die for!
